The Foundation of Graduates in Early Childhood Studies was established in 2005 by the Association of Graduates in Early Childhood Studies to support work in the early childhood field in Australia. The Association of Graduates in Early Childhood Studies (AGECS) has always had a philanthropic focus. With the proceeds from the sales of the Warrawong and Forest Hill properties, the Association established a philanthropic trust (The Foundation of Graduates in Early Childhood Studies) that distributes funds to projects associated with early childhood education and care.
Eligibility
- Domestic or international student
- New/commencing or continuing student in 2026
- Enrolled in a TAFE, undergraduate or postgraduate degree (excluding research degrees)
- Enrolled in one of the following courses:
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary)
- Master of Teaching (Early Childhood)
- Applicants must be undertaking (or due to undertake) work placements in a regional area as part of their studies, with a preference for students with young children whose childcare needs would be impacted by these work placement requirements.
Bursary Amount
10 Bursaries Available
The recipient will receive a single payment of $1,000 after the census date.
Conditions
- Active and enrolled for the full year post census date.
- Students who defer their offer or take a leave of absence will forfeit their award.
- Can be full-time or part-time.
- Must not be in their final semester of studying when applying.
- Students are to maintain current contact details. If you cannot be contacted by mail, email or telephone in relation to this bursary, your bursary may be terminated.
