The Loy Yang B Women in STEM Scholarship is open to domestic new/commencing students who identify as being woman/female undertaking engineering, information technology or science studies at the Gippsland campus and can demonstrate demonstrate social disadvantage or financial hardship.
Eligibility
- Domestic student
- New/commencing student in 2025
- Identifies as being woman/female
- Enrolled in one of the following courses:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours)
- Bachelor of Information Technology (AI and Data Science)
- Bachelor of Information Technology (Cybersecurity_
- Bachelor of Information Technology (Software Engineering)
- Bachelor of Science
- Studying at the Gippsland Campus
- Can demonstrate social disadvantage or financial hardship
Scholarship Amount
1 Scholarship Available
This scholarship is valued at $1,875 per year, up to a maximum value of $7,500 for a four year degree program.
The recipient will receive a single payment of $1,875 after the census date per year.
The recipient may be offered a paid 60 day Co-operative Education Placement in the 3rd or 4th year of their degree program.
Conditions
- Active and enrolled for the full year post census date.
- Students who defer their offer or take a leave of absence will forfeit their award.
- Can be full-time or part-time.
- Awardees are required to attend the Foundation event at the scholarship-specified campus.
- Students are to maintain current contact details. If you cannot be contacted by mail, email or telephone in relation to this scholarship, your scholarship may be terminated.

- should be at least 18 years old.
- have known you for at least a year or for the entire time you were in the situation.
- not be a close family member.
- not live with you.
- and be able to speak about your situation without needing you to explain it to them.
Reference letters can be written by supervisors, co-workers, clients, teachers, or professors.
Please note, that the reference letters must not be older than 12 months from submission date. Reference letters that do not meet the requirements will be deemed as invalid.
