Description

The Foundation Moorabool Wind Farm Scholarship is available for new/commencing or continuing students undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate studies at the Mt Helen Campus in Ballarat.

Eligibility 

  • Domestic student
  • New/commencing or continuing student in 2024
  • Undertaking one of the courses:
    • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary)
    • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)
    • Bachelor of Education (Primary)
    • Bachelor of Education Studies
    • Bachelor of Secondary Education
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Honours)
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Information Engineering) (Honours)
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) (Honours)
    • Bachelor of Environmental and Conservation Science
    • Bachelor of Nursing
    • Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery
    • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
    • Bachelor of Science (Major in Geoscience)
    • Master of Engineering Project Management
    • Master of Engineering Technology (Civil Engineering)
    • Master of Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering)
    • Master of Engineering Technology (Mechatronics and Industrial Automation)
    • Master of Engineering Technology (Renewable Energy and Electrical Power Systems)
    • Graduate Certificate in Community Energy and Micro Grid
    • Graduate Diploma of Midwifery

  • Undertaking study at the Mt Helen Campus in Ballarat
  • Applicants must have a permanent address or have previously resided in the local area of the Moorabool Wind Farm project. Priority will be given to areas within the 10km radius, and any funding that may be available, may be used for areas outside this demarcation line.

Scholarship Amount 

2 Scholarships Available 

The recipient will receive $5,000 in two instalments: $2,500 after the first census date and $2,500 after the second census date.

Conditions 

  • Active and enrolled for the full year post census date.
  • Students who defer their offer or take a leave of absence will forfeit their award.
  • Can be full-time or part-time.
  • Awardees are required to attend the Foundation event at the scholarship-specified campus. 
  • Students are to maintain current contact details. If you cannot be contacted by mail, email or telephone in relation to this scholarship, your scholarship may be terminated.

  • Once applications open you will need to complete the application form questions and provide the required written references. 
  • Please note all applications will require two written references. If you are unsure what to provide in a written reference, please refer to the example reference.  

Reference letter

A reference letter is a written recommendation from someone who knows your situation well. This person: 

  • should be at least 18 years old. 
  • have known you for at least a year or for the entire time you were in the situation. 
  • not be a close family member. 
  • not live with you. 
  • and be able to speak about your situation without needing you to explain it to them. 

Reference letters can be written by supervisors, co-workers, clients, teachers, or professors.
