Description

All students accepted into the Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional Practice) or Bachelor of Cognitive Enterprise (Professional Practice) are automatically considered for this scholarship. 

Continuing students only that enrolled prior to 2022 in the Bachelor of Business (Professional Experience) major are also automatically considered for this scholarship.

An internship is embedded within the programs which sees you undertake 1400 to 1600 hours of work integrated learning with IBM® in Ballarat, Victoria, or other industry sponsors, allowing you to develop relationships and establish networks for future employment or mentorship opportunities. 

Our close partnership with IBM has recently seen us win the Award for Excellence in Student Engagement at the Engagement Australia 2020 Excellence Awards.

With the opportunity of placement at IBM®, or another of our industry sponsors, the programs are designed to ensure you are industry ready when you graduate, this includes ACS accreditation for those completing the Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional Practice).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Domestic student
  • Commencing and continuing students

    • Active and enrolled in a Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional Practice), or
    • Active and enrolled in a Bachelor of Cognitive Enterprise (Professional Practice)
  • Continuing students only
    • Active and enrolled in a Bachelor of Business (Professional Experience) major

Scholarship Amount:

Students will receive approximately $42,000 in scholarships as part of the program.

Scholarship Schedule:

In the final two years of the program, you will receive a scholarship worth $42,000 which will be paid in fortnightly instalments for the duration of the internship.

Conditions:

  • Be active and enrolled in program 
  • Attend a selection interview with IBM® or other approved industry sponsor.
  • Meet any industry sponsor (e.g. IBM) graduate recruitment requirements and be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Undertake between 1400 - 1600 work integrated learning internship with IBM® in Ballarat Victoria, or other industry sponsor.
  • Maintain a satisfactory academic performance. 
    • For the Bachelor of Cognitive Enterprise (Professional Practice), a minimum CGPA requirement of a Credit (average 60-69%) over years one and two will be required. Students below this average at end of year two will normally be advised to transfer to the three year Bachelor of Cognitive Enterprise program. 
  • Maintain satisfactory progress in the industry placement as determined by the industry sponsor. 
  • Unsatisfactory academic performance, or unsatisfactory progress in the industry placement, either due to poor performance or failure to complete the expected number of internship hours, will result in the cessation of the scholarship.
