Description

An academic merit and equity and access-based scholarship awarded to high performing commencing domestic students in the specified programs who can demonstrate equity or access considerations that have or could impact the applicants ability to achieve their full potential.

Eligibility:

  • Domestic undergraduate commencing students in Bachelor Engineering (Honours); and 

  • Has demonstrated academic merit through the results in the studies on which program admissions was based; and 

  • Can demonstrate equity or access considerations such as: 

    • First in family 

    • Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander 

    • Refugee 

    • Gender or sexually diverse 

    • Family circumstances impact study 

    • Sole parent 

    • Primary carer for a child who has a chronic ongoing illness, disability or injury 

    • Experienced family violence 

    • Physical illness or diagnosis 

    • Mental health diagnosis 

    • Victim of crime 

    • Has been in foster / kinship / ward of the state for 12 months or more within the past 3 years at the time of application 

    • Experiencing or at risk of homelessness 

    • Death of a parent or close relationship 

    • affected by bushfire, flood, drought or other natural disaster 

    • Severe financial hardship 

  • Active and enrolled full time in Bachelor Engineering (Honours) Federation University Australia program post census dates.

Scholarship Amount:

  • $4,000 paid in two instalments
    • $2,000 post census semester 2, 2022
    • $2,000 post census semester 2, 2023

Application process:

  • Complete an application form and upload relevant evidence requirements

Conditions:

  • Be active and enrolled in the program full-time after census date
  • Students who defer their offer or take a leave of absence will forfeit their award
  • Engage with Equity Mentors to support your commencement year and progression
